Confitexpo 2023: A world of innovation, sweetness and business

The 37th edition of the most important confectionery exhibition in Latin America took place from August 1 to 3 at Expo Guadalajara. Successfully, Confitexpo brought together manufacturers of candy, snacks, chocolates, cookies, disposables, party supplies and machinery with the largest marketers and distributors in the industry.
The opening of the event was chaired by Mr. José María Herrera, director of the exhibition; Mrs. Graciela Díaz Serrano, president of Confitexpo; Alicia Páramo Ortega, general director of the National Association of Chocolate, Sweets and Similar Manufacturers (ASCHOCO/CONFIMEX); On behalf of the Secretary of Economic Development, MBA Luis Roberto Arechederra, Lic. Pedro Martínez Ponce, general director of Internal Trade of the Secretariat of Economic Development of the state of Jalisco and María Elena Hurtado Aviña, general director of Expo Guadalajara, attended.
The aisles of the fair were filled with buyers from all the states of Mexico in search of classic flavors and recognized brands, but also with the expectation of finding original and innovative products. The work required to organize Confitexpo, the most important meeting point for manufacturers and traders in the sector, is very important. Pedro Martínez Ponce said: “Maintaining an event like Confitexpo for 37 years is a huge job, but the satisfaction of seeing this sector grow is beyond words”.
The exhibition was attended by 5,822 visitors from 19 different countries. This shows the international reach of Confitexpo and its importance in the wholesale trade of confectionery-related products. Snacks were also a focal point at the event, with options that catered to both those looking for healthier foods, such as nuts and pistachios, as well as the more adventurous. The wide variety of options presented at Confitexpo shows the industry’s ability to adapt to ever-changing market trends.
To make the exhibition accessible online, interviews with exhibitors were conducted and broadcast on the fair’s social networks. This allowed followers to experience the exhibition as if they were present, getting to know the products and offers up close.
The exhibition was a success thanks to the representation of 42 different lines of business and the inclusion of 40 companies participating for the first time. The diversity of products and the introduction of new manufacturers is highlighted, establishing Confitexpo’s prestige and importance as the essential trade show for the confectionery industry. The wide range of products presented ranged from candies and chocolates to gummies, snacks, balloons, party supplies, disposable products, machinery and food preparation equipment. This variety emphasizes the relevance of this event for the industry.
For three days, Confitexpo was the hub of the confectionery industry, the place where the most important innovations and offers are unveiled. This confectionery exhibition is a platform that drives the growth of the industry and the realization of successful negotiations in a professional environment.
